Technology Team Wiki-Home

As we work on our technology curriculum over the next year, this internal wiki will enable us to post more detailed information as well as documents and links as we go. This will allow us to collaborate on the evolution of this curriculum throughout the year. Then, our meeting time can be sent in face-to-face discussions about the specific development of the curriculum, assessments, and instruction tied to those assessments.

Additionally, the use of this wiki for our own purposes, will allow us to better understand when and how we can utilize wikis with our students and with staff members.

CCSD21 Technology Curriculum
This District 21 Technology Curriculum is intended to be a working document. This document provides the foundation for what students will experience as they move through the grade levels. Students will engage in this curriculum with core academic teachers, iTech teachers, and other educators in School District 21. There are two equal primary purposes for using technology with students in School District 21. They are:

To enhance student learning and the assessment of student learning by engaging students in meaningful work with technology.
To ensure that students are technologically literate and know how to learn and adapt to new technologies as they emerge.

Without detailed specifics regarding concepts, contents, and skills, which this curriculum is currently lacking, the document is incomplete. This curriculum will continue to be refined during the 2008-2009 school year. Revisions will be made based on the classroom experiences teachers will undertake in beginning to implement this curriculum and based upon District 21’s progress in implementing technology hardware issues. Following that, due to rapid changes in technology generally and changes in technology deployment in District 21 more specifically, an annual review process will also be undertaken with the District 21 Technology Curriculum. As revised and more detailed versions of this curriculum are published the version year and number will change at the top of each page, and the date will change at the bottom of each page.
